=aquillyne

I couldn't be "Virgil". Everyone on every site everywhere has already beaten me to being named after the Latin poet. "Aquillyne" is a combination of three things: the word "aquiline", meaning "having the characteristics of an eagle", a fortuitous meaning in the light of my having originally liked the word purely on the basis of its aesthetically pleasing sound; the word "quill", to refer to writing, being my main artistic focus; and the letter "y" so that its obvious I've mis-spelled "aquiline" on purpose.

I've picked myself a signature motif. In the light of the name referring both to a bird and a quill, rather than the obvious eagle, which would seem far too self-important and aggressive, the real deal of all quill-birds is the peacock, who is serene and beautiful. My first avatar image is a detail of a peacock feather.

I'm going to rework my old prose before moving it here. That way I'll be submitting new work actually by Aquillyne, if you see what I mean. I won't be too bothered about getting all "community" this time round - I'm mainly here just to have somewhere to put my work. But thank you to those people who've watched me now for a second time! Your comments have always been extremely helpful.
